Hytrans

Hytrans Fire Systems has been building high quality, integrated water supply, flood control and dewatering systems since 1988, giving it a depth of experience that other manufacturers can only envy.  As a result, every Hytrans Fire System is backed by decades of quality improvements, performance enhancements and experience in a broad range of applications.  Hytrans Fire Systems has built over 1,200 pump units and has systems in at least 50 countries, (as of March 2021).

Hytrans is the mobile water supply of choice for fire departments, emergency management agencies, flood control districts, military agencies, and the oil/chemical industry.  This is especially true where fully integrated water supply systems backed by a sole manufacturer (i.e., one warranty policy) are desired.  The Hytrans Fire System consists of:

  • Flood Pumps – Hytrans’ smaller power units can be used to drive high volume flood control pumps that are capable of moving 5,283 – 13,208 GPM over short distances and moderate elevation gains using their specially designed 12 inch flood hose.
  • Relay Pumps – All Hytrans pump units can be used for relay pumping.  Hytrans AutoBoost units (Pump units without the submersible pumps) have been specially designed to facilitate high reliability, high volume relay pumping operations.
  • Special Application Pumps – Special applications are no problem for Hytrans pump units.  HFRC can resolve your special application needs by working with Hytrans’ sister company to provide remote operated trash pumps, salvage pumps, mud and dredging pumps.
  • Foam Proportioning – All Hytrans pump units are available with direct injection, automated foam proportioning systems.
  • Pump Units – Innovative hydraulic driven submersible pumps (HyroSubs/AutoBoosts) allow quick access to any open water source within 197 ft, horizontally or vertically, of the power unit which can be container (enclosed skid), truck or trailer mounted.  The HydroSubs are diesel engine driven with state of the art controls for safety and reliability.  Pumping capacities range from 396 to 8,190 GPM at discharge pressures up to 175 psi.
  • Hose – Hytrans hose is available in sizes ranging from 6 to 12 inches and has been specially designed to minimize elongation (1/15th that of some competitors) and twist to help the hose stay where you placed it instead of spreading out all over the place.  This keeps the pressurized hose from obstructing emergency vehicle access to and from the emergency scene.  Hytrans systems are regularly used with 4 and 5 inch hose, as well. See Hytrans Hose Systems for more details.
  • Hose Laying & Recovery – Hytrans hose layers and containers are designed to allow high speed hose laying which reduces set up time and keeps the hose as straight as possible (maximizing emergency vehicle access to and from the emergency scene).  When equipped with Hytrans’ Hose Recovery Units (HRUs), long hose lays can be quickly drained, lifted, and repacked while minimizing effort and the potential for injuries.  See Hose Containers and Recovery Units for more details.
  • Appliances and fittings – Hytrans offers a variety of appliances, fittings, adaptors, and tools to simplify your water movement operations.  These 6 to 12 inch appliances are designed to minimize bulk and weight while maximizing flow capacity.  They include gate valves, gated wyes, Y-pieces, water thieves, spanner wrenches, pressure gauges and flow meters.

When purchased as an integrated system (pumps, hose, appliances, and hose deployment/recovery systems), the end user can rest assured that all of their equipment will be compatible, function properly and be covered by one warranty policy that provides comprehensive technical and maintenance support services.

Hytrans specializes in modularized equipment packages that provide a high degree of flexibility and mobility.  These units can be containerized for use with hook arm loader equipped trucks, trailer or truck mounted, and effectively transported by rail, boat, and cargo aircraft.  The smaller units can also be transported beneath helicopters.

Water supplies spanning thousands of feet can be set up and operational in 15 to 20 minutes!

The Hytrans HRU can have your hose recovered and department ready for the next call in a fraction of the time needed to recover it by hand.  HRUs and a trained three man crew can recover a mile of:

  • 6” hose in approx. 45 minutes
  • 12” hose in approx. 55 minutes

HFRC’s factory trained service staff can help you keep your equipment in top running condition and can provide Hytrans original parts.
